The Hasso Plattner's collection at the Museum Barberini spans the arc from the 1860s to the early 20th century and brings together works from three generations of artists. Based on eight central themes, the collection offers the opportunity to understand the development of French landscape painting in the styles of Impressionism, Neo-Impressionism, and Fauvism. With your Museum Barberini tickets, you can check out several rotating temporary exhibitions during your visit, featuring artists ranging from Van Gogh and Richter to Picasso and Monet. The Impressionists, Neo-Impressionists, and Fauvists revolutionized painting with light-filled landscapes, breaking free from traditional pictorial themes. They captured fleeting sensory impressions as directly as possible on canvas, inspiring later artists such as the Fauvists.

This place is absolutely remarkable! A must see! You can stare right at it and still not believe that is real.

If you book from the official website, you need to specify a time. I had not decided when to visit the monastery, as I was planning to join a two-day, one-night tour from Charles de Gaulle airport. I did some research and found that the available hours were first thing in the morning and then after 1500-1600. It was a busy summer season, so if the roads were busy, it could have taken six hours. When I bought from several travel agencies, I found that there were no time restrictions (dates only). I won't name the company, but please look it up. In the end, I decided to visit France at night (2000-2400) on the day of my arrival, so I decided to visit first thing in the morning the next day.

The booking worked perfectly. Unfortunately, there was a long line at the abbey and nothing went forward. After about 1 hour it turned out that there is a security problem and it is not foreseeable if and when the abbey will be opened. So we left after a total of 2 hours of unfinished business. Better information on the ground would be desirable. So many more people have come who have not come in. Many have completed a long walk (about 5-6 km).
