London's East End: Transformative Private Heritage Journey

Hida was very informative about the islands, took great pride in every effort to ensure her guests had a wonderful time/tour.

Did a lot of research and found Hida. We wanted something custom and private. We wanted to see as much of the island in a limited amount of time. Hida didn’t disappoint. We told her some of our must do’s, and asked her for some of hers. This tour is a little pricey, but all of the Bahamas excursions are. Plus this is private.

In February 2024, our family of 5 (4 adults and a toddler) spent our cruise day at Grand Bahama with Hida. We booked a tour with her in advance because we wanted a private experience that was personalized to our interest. Hida was wonderful from beginning to end. She communicated well, provided great information about the island, her transportation was clean and comfortable, and our activities for the day were exactly what we were looking for. After picking us up from the port, she gave us a tour of the island, we did some shopping at the Port Lucaya Marketplace, and then spent the rest of the afternoon at Banana Bay Restaurant and Lucaya Beach. On the way back to the port she took us to the Bahamian Brewery so that we could bring some local Sands back home with us. Thank you Hida for a wonderful experience!

This is our second adventure with Hida and it won’t be our last! This experience was absolutely amazing. We learned so much about the history of the island. Hida is such a wealth of information. It was such a relaxing and beautiful day that we will never forget. You can’t go wrong with one of her adventures as she makes them all amazing. We truly can’t wait to be back and on another adventure with her.

Tour was a disappointment as it did not include promised destinations which were verified beforehand both verbally and in writing. When tourists hire a tour guide, they are expecting someone to “guide” them as they don’t know the area, what is the finest to see and do, what is most popular, and where they shouldn’t go and what they shouldn’t do. Tourists expect the tour guide to direct them and make suggestions, not just ask them where they want to go. We missed the two most popular local attractions because we weren’t properly “guided” and instead we spent too much time at the local market being coerced, strong armed and pressured into purchasing items from the tour guide’s preferred vendors.

I highly recommend this tour because Hida, as a Bahamian resident, really knows the island well and can customize the tour for those who attend. There is a maximum of only 4 people so you will get a very personal experience! This tour lasts most of the day and you will see so much more than you would from a cruise shore excursion (for those arriving by cruise ship like myself). I plan to come back and do a boat tour with her next time!

Highly recommend to anyone who wants to be able to have a well rounded experience of the island. Got to see lots of cool places and enjoyed a great experience with hida who was nothing but helpful and awesome . Will definitely be coming back.

We had a fabulous and event filled day with Hida as our personal guide. She exposed us to more of a local side of the Bahamas. We bought bread from a local baker, visited a farmers market where we had the BEST conch fritters all vacation, saw a dolphin enclosure and the best places to stay on the island, saw a settlement where locals gather to have fun as well as a typical Bahamian home, visited a local brewery, and then traveled to the East End. There we spent a couple hours enjoying a picnic lunch and swimming at Gold Rock beach. We were almost the only ones there and the water and views were amazing. We also traveled to Garden of the Groves and visited the caves. Throughout the tour Hida shared her knowledge and answered our questions. I learned far more about the Bahamas than any other island I have visited. It was an amazing experience.

We had a great time on this trip! Hida showed us a lot of places in the East part of the Island. The best part was that beautiful beach named Golden Rock, it is beautiful and clear. We visited the caves and learned about the medicinal plants. Also visited markets and got a few cute souvenirs and the best Bahama Mama in Brenda tend. We really recommend this if you want to enjoy a full day in Freeport.

My husband and I had an excellent day with Hida. She gave us a lot of great insight into the history of the island and its recent experiences. She even made an extra stop for us to see the botanical garden because we showed interest even though it was off our itinerary. And we finished with just the right amount of beach time. We felt that she was able to personalize the tour on the fly to reflect our interests. It really was an excellent experience that I highly recommend.
