Breathtaking Madeira: Full Day 4x4 Enchanted Terraces

A very interesting route, the beauty of the island and the power and skills of people were shown. Guide Duarte just perfect!

Madeira is advertised as a beautiful island of mountains, sea, valleys and levadas coupled with beautiful scenery. When researching how best to get a taste of all this we felt that tarmac roads and cushioned seats wouldn’t let us experience the true Madeira. Well organised, interesting trip. Pedro was amazing. Tip: be aware it can be cold in the mountains, so be prepared; we got lucky with the weather thankfully but we were not dressed for cold!

The wild four-wheel- drive portion was really rough. It was much worse for us as we were in the jump seats in the back. I was feeling a little beat up, no -a lot beat up. But my husband had the time of his life and is still thanking me for booking it. We got to see a lot of the island.

We took tours on the first two days of our trip and it was a really good way to get a feel for the island. After the two days we felt like we'd been there a week already because we saw so much. Octávio was an amazing tour guide. He gave us so many great tips of things to go back and see/do as we had a car for our trip. He let us know places we could go that are a little off the beaten track and recommended some really good places to get lunch. The tour itself was fantastic, absolutely worth the money. These tours do some serious off-roading, the tour we took with another company the second day really didn't compare. If you want to go for a swim, I'd highly recommend the pools at Seixal instead of Porto Moniz as they are less busy, cheaper and I would say more beautiful. We were very lucky with the weather, it can be so changeable especially up in the mountains but even if the weather wasn't great I think we still would have loved the tour.

This experience was the best day I had on my trip with my friend to Madeira. I highly recommend it. You get to see so many sites like waterfalls and viewpoints overlooking the mountains and fanal forest and my favourite the natural pools where you get to swim and even overlook the sea. The weather wasn’t really working with us and was foggy and rainy for most of it but the weather on Madeira is unpredictable and we still had a fantastic time. Our tour guide was incredible and really funny, telling us all the facts about Madeira. We even went off road in the 4x4 which was so fun. I couldn’t recommend this more its great value for money and you get to meet lots of people and make friends, ideal for solo travellers.

This was an incredible experience. The scenery is so stunning. Swimming in the natural pools was so special. Going to Fanal to see the trees was magical. I highly recommend this tour.

Diego was an excellent guide, nothing was too much trouble. The open top jeep tour on the off road section was exhilarating and the whole trip was thoroughly enjoyable. We loved the swimming as well.

Could not recommend this experience any more! A fantastic tour of the island, stopping at all of the hot spots. Our driver was so friendly and easy to chat to - very knowledgeable about the island, I learnt a lot! There’s no better way to explore Madeira than on a jeep, the off-roading was so fun! A real highlight of my trip!
