The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish! John Kincaid (our tour guide) was very good, he was very charismatic and his knowledge of the murky goings on in and around Edinburgh was second to none. The stand out part was the underground tunnels, very eerie indeed!

We enjoyed our tour very much! Our guide was friendly and seemed knowledgeable about the history of the underground (though I expect there was a bit of embellishment!). We also enjoyed "exploring" the Greyfriars Kirkyard in the dark, and it made me want to explore more during the day. Unfortunately, my husband got distracted by a tomb and we lost the group near the end. Worked out as it was cold so we popped into Greyfriars Bobby's Bar for a pint and some food to warm up. Maybe more 3.5 but I'll round up. Our guide was great, but it was a bit of a big group, so at times hard to hear her and walking along the busy streets with that many people was a little cumbersome. I think scaling back on the group size would have enhanced the experience.

I had my 9 and 7 year old boys with me and ‘Mary Queen of Scott’s’ was exceptional at including the children as well as all ages in the group. I learnt a lot and would definitely recommend this trip. Thanks Mary!

I’ve been on many tours around the world with lots of guides. For me, Mary Stuart is the best guide I’ve ever experienced. She was brilliant from start to finish. We recently went on the evening ghost walking tour. She arrived in character as Mary, Queen of Scots and was assertive and commanding. She immediately commanded us all whilst addressing us as “common folk.” Her storytelling was clear and engaging, and she created an atmosphere of fear that had me constantly glancing over my shoulder in the tunnels. She also had us all laughing with her humour, charm and quick wit but was able to switch into a more respectful tone when telling of the sad events that took place. Even regarding general health and safety for the group, she was clear and in character, whilst acknowledging those in the group who needed more time to get around. We never felt rushed, but we were engrossed in the stories. I had struggled to remember the history of Mary. She found a perfect balance between telling her story and the dark history of Edinburgh and I left feeling like i've always known the city and that I was in the presence of Mary herself. honestly, I couldn’t take my eyes off her and we were still discussing her the following morning. She is a credit to the company!

We joined the tour on an extremely windy evening but the tour was so interesting that the weather didnt bother us at all. Our guide Robbie Diggs was super entertaining and managed to keep the mood light and fun. One of our favorite things we did during our week in Edinburgh.

Loved it! David Rizzio was amazing, unapologetically himself and made the tour unforgettable- had an amazing time being terrified

David Rizzion was a great tour guide, quick quips and kept us entertained at each stop. Great price and the length of time it took was fair reasonable
