Jameson Dublin: Unforgettable Irish Whiskey Tasting

We had registered for the tour online and found the old distillery easily from the red line tram. The welcome desk only had one person available and so we, and many others were delayed unnecessarily. The welcome drink was a good start with a choice of straight, with lemonade or with ice. Obviously for us it was a straight whiskey 🥃. The photos and history interpretation boards round the bar were interesting and got us in the right frame of mind. We then learned the history of Jamesons, had never appreciated how prohibition and WW2 had affected Ireland so much. Our guide Alice expertly took us through the process of distillation to the most enjoyable part of-the tasting! Everyone enjoyed the experience and we certainly appreciated the whiskey 🥃. The guide Alice had the right mix of enthusiasm, humour and knowledge a credit to Jamesons.

James was the best tour guide. Really entertaining and certainly new his facts. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Dublin.

Our tour guide Izzy was AMAZING! Fun, engaging, and extremely well-versed in the company’s history (and whiskey more broadly). I was blown away at her ability to answer the niche questions our tour group had for her. Jamison has really nailed the format for these tours. This is a much more personal, intimate, and interesting experience than a tour at Guinness, for example. Highly recommend, even if you’re not a big whiskey drinker!
