Golden Circle: Iceland's Must-See Wonders from Reykjavik

Had a fantastic tour!!! If you're in Iceland, you can't miss this. The organization was especially good, and the guide, Rosa Maria, and the bus driver, Jasik, were wonderful. You can ask them anything.

Great tour! We had a hiccup at first because they switched our tour operator and forgot our pick up that we selected. So, if your operator is switched definitely call and ensure your pick up reservation has carried over. Also confirm the ages and number of people in your party because we were delayed because they mistakenly documented my child as a teenager and not a child under 2 — we couldn’t leave without them bringing the car seat. Overall would recommend, but do your due diligence.

The tour itself was enjoyable and the guide very experienced and knowledgeable. However, when we made the booking, we selected a pickup from the Town Hall bus stop, close to our hotel. The day before the tour, we were informed by email that the tour company had changed, and we were now required to meet at the bus terminal, which is much further from the hotel than the Town Hall bus stop. The new tour company did not offer to pick us up from the hotel/bus stop. So, we had to walk in the snow early in the morning to the bus terminal, even though we had paid for a tour with a local pickup. Also, at the end of the tour, we were dropped at a random bus stop in Reykjavik and had to make our own way back to the hotel, instead of being dropped at the bus stop we planned. See extract of email informing of the change below: "We’re writing to let you know that your upcoming booking originally made through Reykjavik Sightseeing / Gray Line / Airport Direct will now be operated by Reykjavik Excursions / Icelandia. Your tour will take place as scheduled according to the attached voucher. You can also view the updated details below. Please note that departure times or pick-up locations may have changed, so we kindly ask you to double-check the details on your voucher before your travel date"

The tour was incredible from start to finish. Our guide Lena was very knowledgeable and engaging and kept us intrigued from the outset. First stop was the national parks with the two tectonic plates, then onto the geysers and finally gullfoss falls. There were plenty of places to grab a bite to eat and toilets along the way - only criticism was the bus was ROASTING! so make sure you can take your layers off. We also paid for pick up and drop off but we’re not dropped off at the destination we selected.

The trip was average. The best was the geyser experience but frankly Golden Circle by itself not worth it.

Stefan was a wonderful guide. Great value for money and recommended for jet lagged families who want to be shown the sights

A great tour. Our guide, Stephan A was excellent. The driver, Johannes was great. We saw incredible sights and the information whilst travelling was really interesting. The ticket and email issued on the day directed us to the bus terminal at Skogarhlio 10, which was a 40 minute walk in gale force winds. On arrival we were told that they were no longer operating from this terminal, and hadn’t been for over a month. We then had to walk back towards the BSI bus terminal and nearly missed our tour. This was very poor admin by Viator 5/5 for the tour 1/5 for the email with incorrect directions

Excellent trip, exactly as described. Our tour guide Stefan was brilliant, very informative throughout. A must do trip when visiting Iceland for the first time.

We were picked up from bus stop no 3 which was two minute walk from our hotel. Easy transfer to main bus terminal to take the bus tour. Our guide Steinunn was extremely knowledgable she told us history and folklore as we travelled around the Golden Circle sights. Each stop - we saw waterfalls, geysers and fissures - amazing and stunning wonders of the earth. Stops were average 45mins long each time and always at a restaurant and gift shop so easy use of conveniences throughout the day. A great start to seeing and learning about Iceland

This Reykjavik Excursions tour was tremendous. Bjarni and Anna where exceptional. Their knowledge and customer care where excellent. The sights and experience were beyond my imagination A fantastic day, I highly recommend the tour, I will come back and do it again.
