Breathtaking Mount Pilatus: Alpine Adventure from Lucerne

Enjoyed the cable car and gondola up the mountain and the cogwheel down the mountain. Sites on top were amazing!!

A great tour to the closest pt. To the summit. The gondola,tram and cog train were all operating and we had a perfect day for photos. Amazing views

Great experience for seeing the Switzerland mountains using gondola and cogwheel. Wonderful views for the mountains and Lake. It will be even better if our tour guide speak slowly so we can heard 100% what she said

The tour is amazing but if anyone has some mobility issues, check details carefully. There are a lot of stairs for the cogwheel and a very brisk walk to catch the boat ride at the end. We nearly missed the boat due to one in our party using a can and not able to walk quickly. Tour guide should have addressed this to make sure we were down the cogwheel sooner and at the front when disembarking to make the walk to boat easier. Otherwise, the tour is amazing and recommended.

The tour experience was wonderful and beyond expectations. There needs to be improvement about instructions to tourists regarding meeting place.

Title of excursion states Lake Cruise is included - until 10/19 - in small print - the panoramic gondola ride also did not happen. We did enjoy the train ride up & the views from there & our time on Mt Pilatus. We did receive 20 CHF per person - just feel the title of this should be changed when Viator cannot offer everything in the listed event.

We traveled in early November and the lake cruise was not operating and the gondola was out of operation. We traveled the cog train both directions. Because the gondola was not operating, they (the tour operator) gave each of us a 20 swiss frank coupon that could only be used at the restaurant on top. This coupon was not enough to purchase chicken nuggets at the restaurant. We had to adjust the day we took our trip because of weather. For anyone planning to do this, I would strongly suggest planning extra days in Lucerne and watch the weather. The tour guide only gave us commentary on the bus ride to and from the cog train. If I was to do this again, I would explore doing the cog train on my own. The tour operator only gave us a bus ride to and from the cog train along with some commentary. It had rained in Lucerne the day before we took the cog train so there was snow at the top of the mountain, but we were able to stay warm enough with the layers that we had on with the buildings that we could get in for a while. There were some clouds at the top on the day we traveled so the visibility on the gondola side of the mountain was not as good as I was hoping for. The visibility was good for us on the cog train side of the mountain, and we had beautiful views of the mountains and the fall color. We enjoyed this but it's REALLY expensive to do so make sure the weather is good for the day that you plan.

This is a must do trip when in Lucerne. Cogwheel train is magical! It was snowing when we got to the top. Nov 2.
