We were a group of seven (unknown to each of us) English speaking travelers. The Salt Mine people put us in with a large group of German speakers and a German speaking tour guide. They gave us translators on a lanyard. Each time the group would get to a stop, the tour guide would hit a button on the wall and we would listen to a recording in our translation unit. While the rest of the group got to hear the tour guide talk. Our recording was about one minute long. While the tour guide spoke for 3-4 minutes and took questions from the group. They would all laugh in unison, while the seven of us just stood by. No effort to include us with this large German group. The last stop on the tour was the worst. The guide either forgot to hit the button for us to get English or there wasn't one. He just talked and talked with the Germans, while, again, we stood by missing everything.

We had a great time on this tour. The bus guide was excellent, spoke great English, gave clear instructions and made sure everybody was happy. The trip in the mine was good too. The only problem I had was when I was using the audio guide, I couldn't hear it very well because the guide was giving German explanations at the same time. Most of the party spoke English - very few german speakers. If the Germans also had audio guides too it would have been better. I think it was very good value for money.

A quick trip into Germany for some beautiful views and salt mine fun. We enjoyed the scenery along the way. The salt mine train and slides were fun for all ages

Our guide (Jose from Costa Rica) was great. Friendly, and knowledgeable. The tour, meh. It's long and most on the road. The salt mine was good but there were elementary school kids probably 50+ kids in our tour at the mine got a but annoying but they were having fun for sure. Better to not run this tour on time same as school field trips. Berchesgarden was nice but we only had 50min. We were starving and enough time for real good sit down dinner but not much else to see the town. We also did as day trip from Vienna which made for long day and not recommend

Hans was great - super funny and knowledgeable! The towns were great and cute and the tour was fun and informative! At first we were unsure about the salt mines but it was a fun activity and we learned a lot. It was a great addition to our stay in Salzburg!

A fun- filled trip through the mountains to Berchtesgaden and on to the salt mines with our guide Susi. What a great day. Susi teamed with Eric driving 2 minibuses through mountain roads, stopping to build a snowman and throw a few snowballs (not to Will Ferrell standards). On for an hour + stop at the village where you could sample Schnapps . Then it was the Salt Mines with slide experience, all the facts and history of ages old salt extraction and sail over salt lake. Finally,it was a drive back with patriotic music and chaotic yodelling. A five star experience. Thanks, Susi and Panorama.

Cheesy tourist visit but absolutely worth it. Had translation box for English. Ride a small train, change into a jump suit - there are lockers for 1 euro, free toilets, go down 2 slides and a very interesting information regarding the mines and its history. It is still working mine. Children friendly and not scary. There are stairs if you don’t want to use slides. Gradually go approx 390 meters. Do recommend

We had a great experience with Leopold! He gave us a wonderful tour of the alps on our way to the salt mines. The salt mines themselves were super fun - way more entertaining and interesting than I thought a salt mine would be! I highly recommend for people of all ages.
