The vault experience was fun. James was a great tour guide with lots of historical information. He was especially helpful to my husband who was in a boot and using crutches.

Absolutely five stars Auld Reekie Tours Ltd delivered an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The tour was packed with incredible stories, atmosphere and fascinating history that brought the hidden side of Edinburgh to life. Nick was outstanding. His energy knowledge humour and storytelling made the entire tour feel immersive and exciting. He had the perfect balance of fun and suspense and kept everyone engaged throughout. You could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does and cares about giving people a brilliant experience. If you are visiting Edinburgh this tour is a must and if you are lucky enough to get Nick as your guide you are in for something special. Highly recommend.

Did the tour with Ally as host. Aside from the haunted aspect the historical parts were genuinely interesting relating to how and why it was built, how it was later discovered etc. Ally was a really good host and made the tour worth doing. The vaults themselves are a very odd place to be and I would say that you should go in there with an open mind. No one does any jumping out so no need to worry about that. It’s about historical story telling in the unnatural conditions under the city and appreciation of what it was like there and what may be down there now.

Our Haunted Vaults tour with James was just wonderfully morbid. He is a gifted storyteller with a great sense of humor. He brought the tales to life as we explored the streets and vaults of Edinburgh. We went on a few walking tours in Edinburgh, and this one was our favorite. I highly recommend taking an Auld Reeky tour if you visit Edinburgh.

We were really excited for this tour and unfortunately a couple hours before we were set to go it was canceled for illness. I’d hope they would have a sub tour guide for those incidences. We moved around our itinerary to make a tour the next day work- the same time was not available, which I am glad we could, but was still disappointing. When we went on the tour the next day it was during the day and not at night, and although we enjoyed it, the tour guide emphasized several times how this tour doesn’t include something the night tour does, which is frustrating since we booked a night tour.

Really enjoyable walking tour with Kieran who shared such interesting history of the city of Edinburgh. So much fun hearing the old stories of Edinburgh and gaining more of an appreciation of the city. Well worth it!

This was an interesting tour. The operator was ok but did not have a lot of stories to tell. Each vault we visited he told a story but other tours we took on this trip told us of more then just about what we were doing. Pretty much you meet and then you walk to the vault and then you left. It was an ok tour but didn't have the the thrills and chills and folklore we were expecting.
