Breathtaking El Yunque: Rainforest Hike, Slides & Beach Escape

I was unsure and nervous about this challenge but happy I did it. I have MS my legs are numb and weak but our guide had a way to keep me pushing forward. I will say if you do have any physical issues please be aware that when they say it could be slippery is a understatement and encourage to wear shoes that will withstand slippery moss covered rocks. I was determined to succeed and had a great crew of others there willing to help each other and Ryan was terrific. He was calm cool and patient with everyone as people were slipping and sometimes crawling up that mountain hill. His instructions were clear and repeated enough to make it stick. Again this is a vigorous climb up and down and was glad I picked a tour that was a little longer so I didn’t feel rushed or pressured so I would recommend this tour for that and of course “Poppi Chulo” aka Ryan. If you do have minor physical impairments make sure you are aware of your limits because it can be a challenging tour but if you do decide to go you won’t regret it. All tours all go to the same spots but the difference for me along side my determination was my partner for support and our tour guide for a successful enjoyable experience

You will have a lot of fun, and the guides bring a lot of positive energy. You'll learn a little history about puerto rico and they'll point out some landmarks on the bus ride out there. After they're done picking everyone up you make a pitstop for breakfast at a fruit stand , then they bring you to Yunque. Getting to the river it's a 10 minute hike thru muddy conditons, as long as you can handle stepping onto the first step of a ladder and your balance is good you have the physical fitness necessary for the hike. Bring an extra pair of socks with you and wear sandals or crocs because it really is quite muddy. Also be prepared to get wet your gonna go down 2 rock slides, swim in a river and jump/dive off some rocks. After yunque you go to luquillo beach, theres a row of resturants where you can eat (find some seafood or pinchas) and after go chill out on the beach. Beach is very swimmable and the water was exceedingly calm considering it was open ocean. bring a towel and some insect repellent as there are def sand fleas just as there are at every beach on the island- its not a knock on the location just reality. Overall it was a great experience, the guides on the bus were fantastic and it was a fun time experiencing a new environmemt with the other members of the group.

Was a great experience, and Ryan was the best and most energetic host/ tour guide. The experience was unlike any other I’ve experienced, from the refreshing waters to the natural water slides and cannon balls off of big rocks. Make sure to wear sunscreen and shoes you don’t mind absolutely beating up and getting wet & Sandy. 10/10 experience. Make sure you use the bathroom and empty your system before you do this type of adventure LOLL. Ps: BUY THE WATERPROOF PHONE CASES

We thoroughly enjoyed this excursion to El Yunque and Luquillo Beach. We were unclear on the pickup time and unintentionally kept the group waiting, but the guide and other guests graciously waited for us once we informed them of our mistake. The guide was very helpful in explaining how to do the waterslides, and he even took videos with our phone to prove we did it! Luquillo Beach is quite rocky just offshore, but we still enjoyed a nice swim to finish off the excursion before returning to the ship with plenty of time before departure. Very enjoyable!

This was our third time over the past 4 years doing this tour and we just love it! It's very convenient that the transportation to and from you hotel/resort is included, especially if you end up enjoying a few too many mojitos while at the Luquillo Kiosks! Tony was our guide and he was awesome! Very informative, constantly telling about different parts and foliage of the rainforest. We really enjoying talking with him throughout the entire tour. I'm sure we will do this tour again in the future and we would be more than happy if we had Tony again.

My granddaughter and daughters raved about how much fun they had on this trip and their guide Rafy! The water slides and adventures were amazing!

This trip was a gift to my daughters and my granddaughter for her sweet 16th birthday. Their guide was Rafy and they could not stop taking about how much fun he was and what a great experience it was. I loved watching the videos they took and was grateful for the wonderful adventure! 5 stars for Rafy!

This was a great experience. Tony was very informative, helpful, energetic, and encouraging. He captured our adventures with numerous pictures and was very accommodating to everyone. The waterslides were fun and surprisingly a smooth ride. The beach was very relaxing with numerous places to eat and purchase souvenirs. I highly recommend this adventure! Tony was an AWESOME tour guide!!!

Tony was amazing, full of energy and at the same time conscientious about those in the group that needed a little more time. We walked into 2 different water slides in the rain forest and it was so much fun and just beautiful. Four of us went, all women over 50 and we took our time and had no problems. Highly recommend great value for the price. We then went to Kioskos Beach and had an amazing meal and one of the best Mojitos we have had before relaxing in the water. Great day!
