Unforgettable Maui Sunrise: Haleakala Summit & Breakfast
Witness the dawning of a new day atop Haleakala (the house of the sun) a dormant volcanic mountain overlooking Maui on the east side. Deep canyons and slopes and unspoiled terrain are home to endemic Hawaiian Nene geese and rare Silversword plants. You'll be transported in a comfortable mini coach to 9,740 feet elevation, close to the summit to witness the ultimate sunrise; a spectacular show of lights and colors. The sunrise tour is an unforgettable experience and a definite must-do on your Hawaii vacation. On the descent, marvel at sprawling scenic views of Kula and the Pacific Ocean on your way to breakfast at local favorite, Cafe O'Lei at the Plantation in Waikapu.

The mini bus was clean and comfortable for the winding trip up to Haleakala National Park. Our guide, Preston, was extremely knowledgeable and experienced with all aspects of the park. Preston had us leave the top of the park as one of the last mini-buses, so we could stop on the way down for more information and photo opportunities. The local breakfast was served at the Maui Tropical Plantation. The food was tasty, but the service was outstanding! We were very lucky to have great weather for the sunrise. I would definitely recommend this tour company! I am not very techy and could not find the photos that I imported from my iPhone. Sorry, the photos were spectacular!!!

Al was a friendly, knowledgeable guide — most importantly, he knew how to safely drive the road to Haleakala! Breakfast was great, too — highly recommend this trip to avoid the hassle of driving and trying to get a parking pass. One note — dress warmly, in layers, as the summit is very cold during winter months. Worth it to pack a parka, hat and gloves for the stunning sunrise.

Professional service and friendly tourguides. The local breakfast is also an unexpected plus. Polynesian Adventure went all the way to Ka'anapali beach to pick us up and send us back after the trip. We wholy enjoy the experince.

We had the best bus driver, Preston. He was very knowledgeable about the land and history. It was a perfect morning to see the sunrise. Definitely colder than we expected, so bring more clothes than you think you would need! 10/10

Beautiful morning, well worth the early rise. Preston was an excellent guide, presenting a wealth of information during our drive. He is knowledgeable and passionate about Hawaiian history and took his time to point out small details and provide extra moments to soak in the experience. Breakfast at the tropical plantation was delicious and fresh. Pack warmer clothes than you think you will need - including a hat and gloves! The wind bites.
