Santiago: Valparaíso & Viña del Mar — Chile's Coastal Masterpiece

The tour was great! First stop is a pitstop for breakfast, where you can see llamas. From there, we go to Valparaiso, where we do a walking tour for about 1-1.5 hours. We rode on the mountain elevators, saw gorgeous street art, and explored the architecture of the town, which is inspired by Victorian, French, German and Dutch architecture. From Valaraiso, we went to the beach, saw sea lions and gulls, and then hung out at the beach. The lunch is at a tourist spot where the food was not great at all, which is why this tour gets 4/5 stars for me. I wish I had the option to go somewhere else. You do get a complimentary drink included at the lunch spot. The Pacific ocean is gorgeous in this part of the world, and I had fun on the beach. After lunch, we headed over to Vina del Mar, saw a Maui from Easter Island, and then walked around and explored. This is the end of the tour - from here, you'll head back to Santiago. For us, it took 2 hours to get back to Santiago due to the traffic, so be prepared for a long ride.

It felt like a rushed tour where we saw little. I’m not sure why the pick up was quite so early. Would have been nice to actually walk around Viña Del Mar.

Skip the restaurant that the guide takes you too over priced and other places closer for better and less expensive not paying the view prices.

Jose took us on a great private tour of Valparaiso and Vino Del Mar! It was personalized and he was very knowledgeable about the areas since he was from those areas. The beach view during lunch was fantastic. He knows many of the street artists and vendors along the routes and we went to places that had great views where other larger tours would not be able to access. Andreas are driver was a very good responsible Driver. Strongly recommended this tour

We were disappointed in the tour. The pick up was 40 minutes later than stated. Despite booking an English tour we were the only people who spoke English. The others all spoke Portuguese. Although the tour guide did give us information in English we felt we missed a lot of the information. To be honest it seemed that the purpose of the tour was to take us to places to spend money eg 44 minutes at Rio Tinto, 2 hours at a Viña del Mar restaurant which was over priced and then a stop at some artisan stalls. We did have a nice walk through the streets of Valparaiso but in talking with another tour guide it seemed we missed some of the highlights.

Pablo Rayo was an excellent guide and provided lots of historical information at each location.His light humor helped keep the smiles along the way. Some of the families along the tour wandered off and kept him busy, but he maintained his patience.

We had a great day, however the weather wasn’t great so dress accordingly. The guides were great we were put on a Spanish tour by accident but Marco was quick to get this corrected transporting us to another location where an English tour guide could collect us. So easy and no problems.

We had a wonderful full day private tour. Franco is an excellent guide - extremely knowledgeable, easy going and flexible. Pablo is a terrific driver and the van was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the entire day very much. Highly recommend!

Rafael was such a fun tour guide. He definitely kept everyone energetic and happy with his music and stories about the history of Valparaiso/Viña Del Mar. We got to see so many different things and the restaurant by the beach was great. Definitely a must for anyone visiting Chile!!
