Best Value Kenya Safari: 5-Day Mara & Lakes Adventure

Accommodation was fine and according to expectation (that's the +1 star) but the guide Solomon, rather call him the driver was not at the level at all: confusions on accommodation places and morning meeting hours, not very good placement during safaris, no communication, vague and short answers, question able eyesight for animals with no binoculars of his own. Add to it an old car not very confortable full of 8 people from 3 différent agencies, and with car radio not working, i call it amateurism as you can find Chinese talkie radio for 30-35usd only ! All car passengers agreed on it. Result: no bearded lion, no leopard spotted meaning no Big five completed. For 1500usd/pax for 6 days (even 2000 for some other passengers), you are in the right to expect better as we feel guide accounts for a good 60% of experience. It was even more frustrating as on the final transfer from office to hotel, another guide of this agency Louis explained us far more things about the animals in 20mins than Solomon in 6 days... Then maybe kind of bad luck on the 20 drivers they have, still HUGE disappointment on our main yearly trip. So i want to mostly blame here the agency who appointed us someone not tailored for this job who they should propose to reconvert as maybe taxi driver... And despite reclamations during trip agency did not agree to change driver halfway as well. I wont redo it and definitely dont recommend this agency and its sisters (jungle roam/jocky tours/Big five).

We had a great experience with Jocky tours. Everything was as described, David our guide was extremely knowledgeable and really helpful throughout the entire safari. He always went out of his way to make sure we had the best experience possible. We managed to see the big 5 on our trip which would not have been possible without a knowledgable person like David. Within 2 hours in Masai Mara we had seen almost everything we set out to see, the animals were amazing to see so close. We initially booked budget accommodation and then upgraded closer to the trip. All of the hotel were very nice. I would recommend hockey tours and David for any friends and family visiting.

James was an exceptional driver. In the chaotic driving conditions of Kenya, he remained professional, calm, and extremely careful. Throughout the safari, he was actively spotting animals for us—far more than I ever expected, and honestly even more than what I’d seen in all the YouTube videos I had watched beforehand. He was patient, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience exciting and unforgettable. I would recommend James to anyone, and I will definitely be telling my friends to book with him as well.

The tour was amazing!! We did the five days tour, and everything went really smooth. The tour guide, Dennis, really made the experience the best! He was very knowledgeable and he brought us to the best places to see the animals, and we saw almost all of them thanks to him! He was always on time and always very polite and very interesting to talk to as he knows so much about Kenya! He was also very accommodating with every request which made the whole trip feel very safe and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend the tour, also for the amazing price considering the quality of the transportation, and I would recommend booking with Dennis!!

I can't express how good a job jocky tours did with the itinerary of the 5 day safari, we really felt like we saw a lot of Kenya, and our guide, Joshua, made sure we were all well informed, happy, and felt safe during the whole tour. Not only that, Joshua's breadth of guiding experience meant that we were always front and center of the wildlife action at all times! We were skeptical of the lower price point vs other providers, all I can say is the value for money is amazing, and we never felt for a second that the tour was 'budget' in any sense. The staff at the accommodation along the way were very hospitable and kind. We'd definitely use jocky again.

Fantastic trip. We saw all big 5 animals . The tour leader super profesional, knows terrain ,he really lives it with his heart,so passionate about what he doing and as result I get a great experience. Food I liked is healthy and good cooked. Accommodations are clean. Amazing experience, I consider my trip with that company to Maasai Mara and Amboseli one of my best. Very satisfied.

We customised the standard 6 night safari into a 4-night customized group safari with Jocky Tours and had an amazing time! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had the absolute best safari experience with our guide, Peter Kapino! From start to finish, Peter went above and beyond to make sure our trip was unforgettable. He’s incredibly knowledgeable — he seemed to know every detail about every animal we came across and answered all our questions with such enthusiasm and patience. What really stood out was how thoughtful he was throughout the day. He constantly made sure we were comfortable and hydrated (a lifesaver under that African sun!), and he never rushed us. Peter took his time spotting animals, using his sharp eyes and deep understanding of the terrain to find incredible wildlife we never would have seen on our own. He truly went out of his way to make sure we saw everything we came for — and more! Thanks to him, we left with amazing memories, stunning photos, and a huge appreciation for the wildlife and landscape.
