1. San Thome Cathedral, also known as St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica, is a Roman Catholic minor basilica located in Chennai, India. It is one of the only three churches in the world built over the tomb of an apostle of Jesus Christ, the other two being St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City and Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Spain.

The cathedral is built in Neo-Gothic style and is dedicated to St. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus, who is believed to have come to India in the 1st century AD and preached Christianity in the region. The cathedral stands on the site where St. Thomas is believed to have been buried after his martyrdom.
