The Khmer Rouge turned Toul Sleng High School into a center for interrogation, torture and death. Thousands of photo of victims can be seen in each room. You will walk slowly and investigate the materials used for interrogation of prisoners. After that we travel about 15km toward southwest of Phnom Penh we will arrive at Choeung Ek. The memorial at Choeung Ek just outside Phnom Penh was an orchard! And a Chinese cemetery prior to 1975. During the Khmer Rouge regime, it became one of the killing fields the site of the brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom first suffered through torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison. Choeung Ek is now a group of mass graves and a memorial stupa containing thousands of skulls. Come back to hotel and drop off.

We had an extremely informative tour with Ms Sreyneang. She had great English and was very well knowledgeable. She helped us make sense of the convoluted political past of Cambodia, and was able to provide her own experiences and stories from her own family as well. We came away with a thorough and complete picture of the atrocities of the Pol Pot regime, and better for it!

We were picked up on time and the car was clean, tidy and comfortable. We were guided by Ms Chheang Sreyneang. She had fantastic English and on the way to the S21 gave us an in depth history of the country prior to phol phot take over, to help understand some of the “why’s”. She dealt with both the sites with respect to and sympathy for the victims. All our questions were answered and repeated when we had forgotten something! We both feel we have a far greater understanding of the period and could tell friends the why’s and wherefores. We cannot imagine a better guide. Chheang thank you so much 🙏

I had Ms. Chheang Sreyneang as my guide today. She was incredibly knowledgeable with personal, family stories to add to the overall history of the sites. She told the history like a story and was able to answer any questions I had. The pacing of the tour was ideal. They were even able to pick me up from the airport and stow my luggage in the van. Highly recommend taking time from your vacation to learn more about an important time in recent history and to pay respects to the victims.

Confronting but very interesting tour all visitors to Phnom Penh should experience. Mr Sok is an excellent choice for this tour, he has extensive knowledge of this period in Cambodia’s history and shares this clearly. Understandably other Cambodian people we have spoken to were reluctant to discuss these times. We felt it important to gain this insight and are very grateful to Mr Sok for providing this. We wish peace and good times for Cambodian people.

Highly recommend anyone visiting Phnom Penh to do this trip. It is very hard hitting but something important to learn about and understand. Our guide, Silong, was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us fascinating insight into the history of the genocide and killing fields. He also gave us great tips for the rest of our time in Cambodia.

Mr. Silong was an outstanding guide who made us more knowledgeable about Cambodia and the complexities of its dark past than any textbook could. He explained things thoroughly and simply for people who did not have significant background context and in an objective manner. We would give this 6 stars if we could. In terms of the day itself it never felt rushed or dragged on, the car is comfortable with plenty of water and a safe driver. I would recommend everyone take a tour with Mr. Silong if they are able.

We were so lucky to have Ms. Thavy, a teacher, as our guide through a morning of "tough subjects" at Tuol Sleng and Cheung Ek. Her factual knowledge is enhanced by her willingness to share her family's personal experiences during the war, and this made our tour very special. She was an excellent help in trying to wrap our heads around the horrors of that time. Highly recommend a tour with her!

Nin was a super guide. Very knowledgeable and many personal anecdotes. A very humbling and worthwhile experience. So much poignant and sad reflection on the fragility of life in this region. This is a must do tour.
