My friends and I did the guatape and coffee farm tour from Medellin. I cannot recommend enough, it was a great experience getting to do both activities in one day without being too long of a day. The entire process was extremely well organized and good communication prior. Our guide Julio is what made this tour incredible, he was so friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating letting us take our time all day. We shared many laughs making the day even better, best tour guide ever!

As two female travelers from the US we were somewhat nervous to navigate our Colombian vacation by ourselves. However, Oscar immediately put us at ease, and treated us like queens. We enjoyed this day with him so much that we immediately booked a tour with him for the next day. He taught us so much about Colombian culture and gave us an experience we will truly never forget. We tasted all kinds of tropical fruit we’d never seen before, had a lunch of a classic Colombian plate, climbed the big rock (took us 25 minutes) and were even lucky enough to meet the mayor of el Peñol! Oscar also went above and beyond capturing photos for us and was an incredible photographer and knew all the best photo ops and angles. If you get motion sick, make sure to pack Dramamine for the long mountainous car ride. Oscar is a very good driver and has a nice and comfortable car. If there’s rain in the forecast, wear shoes with some grip so you don’t slip on the coffee farm!

Oscar truly made our entire experience in Medellín. We were two women traveling together and Oscar immediately put us at ease with his demeanor, knowledge and expertise! The tour was worth every penny - so rich in culture, experiences and information. We got to go on a fruit tasting and even meet the mayor as they were passing by! Oscar is clearly a huge member of the community and everyone knows him, which made us feel even more special and treated. The coffee farm was a once in a lifetime experience that we never in a million years would have found on our own. While we were on the tour we had such a great time we booked him for the next day.

Perfect tour! A comfortable, air-conditioned car picked us up right from the hotel and brought us back afterward. Our guide Julio was incredibly friendly and shared lots of interesting information throughout the trip. I highly recommend this tour — I really loved it! I actually booked two tours with Tourguides Medellín, and I enjoyed both of them very much!

We had a great time on our tour of Guatape and a coffee farm. Julio is a very good driver and shared lots of interesting information and made it fun! The transportation is very comfortable and we got to hike up the rock in the morning before all the tour buses arrived, so it wasn’t very crowded. The hosts at the coffee farm are also very nice and showed us the whole process, and we were the only group there. Overall a great day!

Oscar was a fantastic guide who knows not only about the tour but many things about Colombia. Very friendly, considerate, kind and easy to talk to. The tour has good compositions of visiting the iconic rock near Guatape, the town itself, and coffee farm to experience how coffee beans were picked and roasted. Our way of appreciating drinking coffee in each morning has eternally and positively changed. Unexpectedly we enjoyed the fruits tasting part of the tour very much, so many delicious fruits are in Colombia, more than 350 ! It was a long drive but time passed quickly with good conversations and beautiful tropical farmland scenic drive. Thank you Oscar !

We had a small group tour with Yuli and it was fantastic! Exploring the Zócalos, and El Peñol and getting to climb la Piedra de El Peñol were all terrific, as was learning from Yuli about life, the food and local culture, but the real highlight was the coffee farm. Learning and taking part in the collection, sorting, grinding and ultimately drinking the amazing coffee was a real treat and Yuli was so kind, helpful and fun!

Don’t hesitate to book this trip immediately! Yesterday we spent a day with Henry, a native of Medellin, and one of the warmest, most generous people we’ve ever met. With genuine enthusiasm, he shared stories of the region’s rich history, and offered a window into daily life here, not just for locals generally, but for his own family as well. After over 12 wonderful hours together, we came to appreciate how deeply woven family, kindness, and connection are into Colombian culture. We started off the tour going to a lovely petting zoo where we got to feed alpacas and goats carrots, and soon after, hiking up La Piedra de Peñol, taking in the breath taking views from the top. Later, we went on a beautiful boat ride where Henry narrated so we felt like we had an understanding of the history of the lake, and the exciting developments occurring there today. Then we went on an incredible coffee tour with coffee farmer Nubia, and our ears were filled with her laughter and pure joy as we went through the lush fields of coffee plants. We learned so much and had such a blast. We have taken a lot of tours, but this was our favorite we’ve ever been on.
