We absolutely loved our relaxing day with our guide, Erna. We first stopped at the Etruscan tombs and visited on our own. We then went to the beautiful town of Tarquinia, where Erna showed us the fabulous sites. We had a delicious meal at a small Italian restaurant and then drove back to the cruise port. It was a memorable day.

We had the most fabulous day. We were the only ones on this tour and Andre did not cancel even though it was a public holiday and a last minute booking. Andre was knowledgeable and sensitive to our interests. He gave us do many insights into the Etruscan’s lifestyle. He also recommended the most delicious place for Lunch where we were treated to a special menu with wine for a very reasonable price. Would thoroughly recommend this tour if you are at all interested in visiting a truly magical place.

This was a nice alternative for a cruise stop in Civitatavecchia instead of a schlep into Rome. The tour guide lives in Tarquinia and was very knowledgeable about the city's history and the Etruscans. The city predates Rome and was very interesting. There was a lot of walking on a hot day, and I was the only person taking the tour. Most companies would have canceled due to not enough participants (this happened to me with three other booked tours), so I was glad this one proceeded as planned.

The old town was very cute with gorgeous views. It was a good break from all the tourists. Cute buildings. Cute churches. Most shops are closed on Sunday’s but we didn’t care. There are still places to eat and a few souvenir shops. Went to caves- kids loved the history of it all. Was a 5-10 min walk. Not too bad. We are glad we went. Had a group of 7ppl renting from 8 yrs old to seniors.

Didn't live up to expectations! Once we got off our bus from our ship, we found the Tour Guide easy enough. She was a very nice young lady who had just started with the company and had some trouble with English but did her best. Her supervisor showed up shortly after and was also very nice and spoke fluent English. Unfortunately, there were some issues with the transportation to the town and we had to wait for our bus for quite a while before it arrived. Once we got to Tarquinia, about twenty minutes by bus, the little town was very nice. The tour of the Etruscan underground city exhibit was interesting, to say the least, and we had a good time. The only other issue was that many of the locations in town, noted as part of the tour, were closed down and we couldn't see them from inside. It was stated that the town council had implemented new tourist restrictions on certain days of the week. It would have been nice to know this in advance so that we could plan accordingly. Altogether it was an OK experience.

The tour personnel met us at the cruise ship shuttle station, and once 2 other couples arrived, we set off on an amazing day in Tarquinia. The mamy underground painted tombs of Etruscan aristocrats were each described in English at their entrances. Following the visit to the Necropolis, we headed to Tarquinia. An ancient city, we visited churches, walls, beautiful overlooks. Although we had not previously booked our lunch, our guide arranged a wonderful lunch with wine for the 6 of us. Our visit to the Estruscan Archeological Museum of Tarquinia, where many of the objects, sarcophagi, and wall paintings are housed, was a highlight. We hadn't booked a guided tour, the museum, or lunch, but we're able to add them while in Tarquinia.

This tour from Civitivecchia started out with a problem - the directions for the pick-up were geared to large cruise ships but we were on the small Windstar yatch. But we finally got with the guide ... and from that point everything was amazing. Our guide Andrea was super helpful, freindly, and informative. She even introduced us to the mayor of Tarquinia. Tarquinia itself is simply amazing. The Etruscan ruins were fascinating. The old town of Tarquinia was beautiful (and not a tourist around). We had a lunch stop in town, and the food was some of the best we had in Italy (and that's saying a lot). The archeological museum is very well done, albeit without much English. This is a hidden gen, and many thanks to Viator and MyLoveItaly for making it special.

A passionate guide picked us up at cruise terminal and gave a personal tour of his City of Tarquinia. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Tours of churches, city walls, lunch and roundtrip transportation. The Museo Nazionale Tarquiniense of Etruscan artifacts was superb and the viewing of the 22 Etruscan tombs complete with painted walls was an experience. Andrea Trincanato (myloveitaly.com) was the best of the best guides. He lives in the city and can speak first hand of the area. He took us to a local artist, Totino Michele, where we purchased reproduction Etruscan art made in the old methods. This is the best tour I have ever taken.

This tour was a highlight of a recent trip to Italy and Spain. Everything was above expectations - the necroplis, the walking tour of Tarquinia, the museum and even the lunch. Thank-you Erna & Andrea

Etruscan site of Tarquinia is amazing and UNESCO heritage. You can find the first chapter in the history of great Italian painting for its painted tombs from 500 yrs B.C. adorned with scenes of huntsmen, fishermen, musicians, dancers... Really amazing!
