Night Sledding from Interlaken

Катание на санках есть дневное и ночное. Ночное есть с ужином (фондю) и без него. В наш день (пн) Ночное катание оказалось без ужина :). Советы и проблемы - в конце ниже, сейчас - по пунктам описание процесса. 1) В 18:30 примерно вас подбирает минивэн (точку встречи согласуют при бронировании, в зависимости от вашего адреса проживания). 2) Привозят в офис компании. Здесь можно арендовать теплую одежду, теплую обувь, шлемы, снаряжение для лыж и сноубордов и т.д. А также купить одноразовые самогреющие стельки (я не знала, что они там есть - привезла свои :)) Для санок рекомендую взять их ботинки, т.к. тормозить и управлять санками вы будете своими ногами об снег, так что если у вас ботиночки или нежные сапожки - их стоит поберечь :) Аренда 1 пары - 10 CHF, обязательно возьмите с собой свои шерстяные носки! Также нужны будут теплые ("дутые") перчатки, шапки и шарфы (все-таки скорость). 3) Потом на том же минивэне вас везут минут 20 в горы. Я думала, что на нем мы поедем до начала трассы и это была моя ошибка :) 4) Вэн паркуется возле начала фуникулера. Здесь вам выдают санки (очень похожи на наши обычные детские санки с полозьями и сиденьем на них :). И потом в ночи специально для вас включают фуникулер и в полной темноте вы плывете над снежным лесом вверх, к звездам..... Вот только я панически боюсь фуникулеров.... Так что из гандолы меня выносили в прямом смысле слова - как статую "девушки сроднившейся с санками" :))))) Но - оно того стоило! Сам спуск на санках - это просто потрясающе!!! 5) На спину каждому крепят красный фонарик (чтобы видеть куда поворачивает группа впереди, едущая за гидом). Трасса не освещена. Только звезды :) 6) ВНИМАТЕЛЬНО слушаем объяснения как управлять санками. Да, вы на них с детства рассекаете, НО здесь все немного по-другому. И если не хотите либо плестись в конце, потому что "ваши санки не разгоняются", либо вылетать на каждом повороте (хорошо если в сугроб, а не на целинный склон леса где кубарем с санками вниз), и тем более подвихнуть ногу, потому что вы ее неправильно выставили для поворота - слушайте и смотрите внимательно! 7) Ну а потом .... Потом вы летите вниз! По трассе, которая петляет между деревьями в лесу на склоне гор, белоснежный снег, россыпь звезд в черном небе (я столько даже на море не видела!) и огней внизу лежащего городка. И ветер в лицо! Это ОЧЕНЬ круто! И совсем не страшно! (если не нарушать указаний гида). И тихие девочки, и тетки, и пацаны - все прекрасно справились, быстро освоились, и под конец даже гонки устроили а-ля формула 1 :))) - только снег взметывалася за болидами, то бишь за санками :) Проблема: 1) оплата производится предоплатой через сайт. Сумма оплаты выставляется в швейцрских франках (CHF). Карта у меня Мастеркард - счет специально в евро. НО почему то оплата списалась в рублях (!), кинув меня на 3 кросс-курса обмена (потеря составила дополнительно 13 евро к 142 евро оплаты, т.е. почти 10%). Outdoor, на мой вопрос что произошло, ответил, что де ни они, ни платежная их система не выбирает валюту оплаты, типа это я так выбрала. НО нигде на этапе платежа нет выбора валюты оплаты. ВОЗМОЖНО платежная онлайн система привязывается к стране плательщика и\или к стране выпустившей карту, и автоматом ставит их национальную валюту. Не знаю, но это единственная догадка. Советы: 1) взять в аренду их обувь, мерзляки могут в офисе купить самогреющие стельки; 2) с собой иметь свои шерстяные носки (см п.1), "дутые" перчатки (непромокаемые), шарфы, шапки (капюшон будет мешать вертеть головой, да и скинет его ветром), 3) если боитесь высоты - решите, сможете ли вы перетерпеть минут 5-7 подъема на фуникулере 4) ВНИМАТЕЛЬНО слушать и смотреть гида по управлению санками 5) если есть экшн-камера с ночным режимом и креплением на голову - можно попробовать заснять )) 6) если вдруг окажетесь в конце группы и отстанете от нее - не волнуйтесь, гид делает несколько остановок на маршруте и дожидется всех отставших, чтобы потом снова ехать одним "караваном" 7) перед такими стартами покажите спину соседу - работает ли красный фонарик у вас на спине, не заслоняет ли его капюшон и т.д., потому что те, кто за вами едут - ориентируются именно на свет такого фонарика впереди едущего. 8) если у вас были с собой какие-то вещи (рюкзак и т.д.) - их можно оставить либо в ячейках в офисе компании, либо в самом минивэне, когда он запаркуется возле фуникулера. 9) ну и поужинать (не очень плотно, чтобы не укачало) до этого рекомендую. Все это мероприятие займет около 3 часов (дождаться минивэна, в офис переодеться, доехать до точки, подняться наверх, спуск вниз, обратный путь до офиса, развозят по точкам высадки). Укатанного вам снега! Чистого звездного неба! И наслаждайтесь спуском!

Is this experience worth the cost and the answer is simple… if you love a thrilling experience, beautiful views, and excitement, all in one then the answer is absolutely yes!!! This is not the typical sledding you think of in your backyard, this is fast speed down the mountains with lots of curves and beautiful views. I would absolutely do this again.

It was so fun! The right amount of risk for me :) great view with the moonlight and thoughtful guides.

This is one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I am a 60 year old woman and did this with my 23 and 28 year old kids and husband and other 60+ year old family members. It is somewhat physically challenging but so worth it. Beautiful views and we were fortunate to have an amazing snowfall before going. Our guide Poca was very nice. The drive up the mountain was a little scary at times because we had some problems with the chains on the tires but once we got up to the top it was amazing. It was very nice to have access to snowpants, boots etc so we didn’t have to pack them. I highly recommend this trip.

We really enjoyed the experience of interacting with the ski gondolas after dark and then making our way down the hill on our sleds. The company runs the event well and we enjoyed our guide.

It was a great experience. Was timely managed and nicely organised. Larger groups are not recommended. Gets too crowded

the trip leader was amazing and made the experience all the more fun with his great music choice and insightful information. the tour I'd originally booked had to be cancelled due to lack of snow, but the staff were amazing and offered a refund or a alternate track which included a hike and a free rental of the hiking boots. it was overall an amazing experience and the views from the top were just gorgeous. would definitely book with this company again if I were to return to Switzerland.

My sisters and I loved our night sledding with fondue dinner experience through Outdoor. We don't ski but wanted to do something outdoors while we were in Switzerland and thought this was the perfect activity. The hotel pick up/drop off was nice so we didn't have to navigate the town since we didn't have a car. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, even before arrival when we had questions, they promptly got back to us. Neil was a great guide, keeping it fun, but also made sure we felt safe and comfortable the whole time. We chose to include the fondue dinner because we wanted to make sure that got that experience as well in Switzerland. It was a cool experience and we are glad we were able to try it, but none of us necessarily loved it. If you get to experience a fondue meal at another time, you could just do the night sledding and not opt to do the fondue dinner that's included. We were just there for a short amount of time and wanted to make sure we had a fondue meal and we are glad we did. We ended up renting ski pants, and I'm glad we did. It was mild the night we went, but it did start to snow and it's nice to not get your pants wet before you go to dinner.

Learning to toboggan was fun but I was under the impression it was a maintained trail with lights along the side and a groomed path. It’s truly an unlit path in the woods. We didn’t have a clear night so it was hard to see where you were going and we had to walk a lot because the fresh snow slowed down the trail. It’s a coin toss: if you have a clear night I bet it’s more fun. The lights in the photos are what the guides have you wear so they can find you. You wear them on your back so it doesn’t help you see. One guide was great, the other clearly didn’t want to be there.

it was my first time doing such intense sledding and it was even thrilling at night! there were many guides to ensure our safety throughout the trail down. fondue after was great but i think coming from Singapore with multiple religions, i would suggest Outdoor to indicate that the fondue has alcohol as there was a couple with us who were from Dubai which meant no alcohol and no pork in their diet - they ended up watching us eat the whole dinner :/ Process: we were picked up by the guide and proceeded to the shop to fill our names. please note to wear snow/hiking boots and SKI PANTS. lots of people had to rent ski pants. jeans will not do cause it absorbs water and you will freeze. we were then driven to a location to collect our sleds + take the cable car up (it was just side by side). there was a bit of walking involved to our sledding start point and from there, the guides will teach you how to control your sled and what to do IF you fall into deep snow. the trail was F A S T - not meant for kids hahahah. and the turns can get pretty sharp so there is a lot of controlling going on. one will work up a sweat after. there is also a lot of stopping and walking involved as some parts of the trail are flat ground and not a slope, which is not suitable for sledding. lastly, we end up sledding down a deep but short slope. PLEASE note that you may get injured. we were not given instructions to stand up and move to a side at the end so the sleds keeps coming down and banging into the people/sled in front. i got injured at the very end when we were all ready to leave because one of the participants still had the sled on the ground (maybe she just sledded down) and i stepped on it and hit my calf with my own sled that i was carrying. i had the fondue package so i was whisked away to the restaurant near the shop at the end. the pre fondue dinner which was macaroni and bacon was really great (again, Outdoor should indicate that there is pork for their muslim guests).
