City Tour in El Salvador

If you’re looking for a tour guide when in El Salvador, I highly recommend Papagayos. What an incredible experience they gave us. We were there for 2 weeks. They picked us up for each tour and always on time and brought us back to our hotel. They are so very personable and very knowledgable with the history of El Salvador. Erick, his wife Doris and son Jerry were all so warm and have a great deal of passion for El Salvador. They are so attentive, they make you feel so welcomed and feels like you made new friends. They took us to the most beautiful places. Hiked up volcanoes with stunning viewpoints. We visited El Boqueron, Ruta de las Flores, Ilopango lake, city tour and that’s just to name a few. At the end they knew we wanted to go to the best place that has pupusas and they accommodated us. Definitely will use them again on our next visit.

We were not sure what to expect. El Salvador was an open question to us what with the past problems of this complex country but Eric, our Salvadorian advisor, was the answer! From start to finish he was communicative, competent and caring. His personality, collective knowledge and his willingness to become a friend took us to a family level of experience. With his effort to help us understand the beauty, social cultural, and political history of his country at a personal level we were provided an insightful experience. We have arrived back home with photos and memories to last us a lifetime. Did I mention he was an excellent driver from Surf City to the architectural and city highlights and beyond the volcanic rims and heights? Thanks again from your Canadian friends.

Top quality tour guides, with fluent English and the smartest way to learn about San Salvador. I did both a private tour of downtown and they organized a 27 person team tour for our group. The private tour was at my pace and filled with amazing insights and experiences with the food and culture of the city. The team tour was in a new air conditioned coach to the volcano, restaurant, coffee plantation and rainbow slide. Filled with great history and answering all of our questions, they were extremely patient with us and made sure we enjoyed every bit. In all my travels, rarely did I see tour guides go the extra effort to welcome us to their country like this team! Thank you for everything and I am glad that I did not fit in the beaches into my trip so then I can return for another tour with you and my family in the future! We really enjoyed everything about El Salvador. Erick is very knowledgeable about El Salvador History, he went above and beyond, to make sure we enjoy and we was comfortable during our trips I learned a lot about my beautiful country since I live in USA for 25 years, this trip brings to me a lot memories.

We have cooperated with Eric and Doris for many times. We go to El Salvador very often for business purposes, they pick us up and drop us off at the airport. They also provided us with a driver with an SUV for transportation in the city, so we don't need to deal with traffic and directions. They are responsive and punctual, they keep their promises. It was the best tour so far that we had after so many trips around the world! The tour guide Erick was a real professional: spoke fluent English and was a full of knowledge of the history of a city and its surroundings. His SUV was almost brand, very comfortable with a/c. Because of him we experienced a lot of amazing things and drank the best Salvadoran coffee! Gracias!

I wanted to share the great experience I had using “Papagayo Adventures” in El Salvador. We took 2 tours and our bilingual guide was Erick Gerardo Galves, who provided us with an excellent experience taking the tours, one to a Vulcan including the city tour, and the other one to "Antigua Guatemala". I can say they have competitive rates and are very reliable, consistent, knowledgeable, and courteous. That is why I am giving “Papagayo Adventures” a 5-star rating.

Amazing tour by Julio. Great history of the city, my highlight is the Palacio Nacional for only 5 dollars, you can get in beautiful historical rooms! Amazing experience, love the miradoro view top of the city! And by heading home we ate papusas in Orocluita! I did 11-3:30 all worth it! Thank you Eric for the recommendation! Gracias
